We have the only club-based lapidary workshop in southwestern Ontario!
Lapidary Workshop Sessions
If you have ever wanted to “level up” pieces in your rock collection, come out to our workshop! Here, you can transform found or purchased rocks & minerals into beautiful polished pieces or cabochons.
Workshop machines may only be used by our members, but anyone is welcome to drop by & check out the workshop!

Our Monitors
Our knowledgeable workshop Monitors will get you started & show you how to safely use machines. See the workshop schedule below for the times offered with each individual Monitor.
Workshop sessions typically run:
Monday: 5:30 to 9:00pm (Craig)
Tuesday: 9:00am to 12:30pm (Liv), 12:30pm to 4:00pm (Steve)
Wednesday: 5:30 to 9:00pm (Doug)
Thursday: 5:30 to 9:00pm (Carol)
Occasionally Saturday: 1:30 to 5:00pm (Carol/Gerald)
Note: Monitors schedule sessions many weeks ahead. If no attendees have signed up, they are not expected to come. Please make sure to book >24 hours in advance for this reason!
We also offer classes on various lapidary techniques, including cutting & shaping cabochons.
Classes are open to BLMS members only, and are held at our Clubhouse.
Each class typically costs $20–45, and takes ~2–4.5 hours. The BLMS provides all required tools except magnifiers.
