Metalsmithing

In our newly appointed metalsmithing studio, we offer classes & workshops on techniques in silversmithing, wire-wrapping, and larger metal projects (e.g., copper). Past classes have included:

Introduction to Silversmithing

A beginner class on the basics of working with sterling silver, including piercing, piercing, sawing, soldering, & finishing. No experience necessary.

Simple Rings

A beginner class to make a simple band ring or set of stacking rings, including soldering, filing, polishing, texturing, & finishing. No experience necessary.

Meditation Spinner Ring

Create a dynamic, two-part kinetic spinner ring, using forming & soldering , texturing, & finishing.

Bezel-Set Pendant

Form a bezel around a cabochon, solder to a backplate, create a simple bail, & finish the piece. Advanced class requiring previous experience.


Classes are open to BLMS members only, and are held at our Clubhouse.

Each class typically costs $20–45, and takes ~2–4.5 hours. An additional materials fee ($5–30) must be paid to the instructor at the class.

The BLMS provides all required tools except magnifiers.
